LET IT ROCK: Rare Swiss rock sampler with groups from the Zurich Oberland region (Trust the Blues, Riff Raff, 8-Trackattack, Baton Rouge, Noware, Crank, Steel & Glass, Zot). OIS with all group biographies and enclosed newspaper special ("Anzeiger von Uster" May 14, 1990) describing in detail and with photos all the groups. The "Let it Rock" sampler including the enclosed newspaper special with its wealth of information and rare photos of these groups and the local rock scene in general is a rare document of local Swiss rock bands at the end of the 1980s.. To me the most memorable track on this LP is "Tell me baby" by TRUST THE BLUES, a track which in its raw blues power is reminiscent of the Pretty Things. TRUST THE BLUES also is not a new group like the others on this sampler. They were in fact the first rock band in the region, founded by Larry Schmucki (Ex-KING-BEES) in Wetzikon and known in 1967 as THE BREAK UP and then in 1970 as TRUST. The newspaper special also includes a deaialed article on the production of the LP in Switzerland's only vinyl record factory (Turicaphon) which also happens to be located in Uster.
